The International Centre for Transition Justice (ICTJ) supported AHRDO to facilitate a comprehensive training for 56 women / widows and victims on two specific forms of participatory theatre; Playback theatre and Forum theatre for different organizations as below:

1-    Today Afghan Women Organization (TAWO) works to promote women rights in Afghanistan via arts and production of videos and clips reflecting the real situation of Afghan women, and currently is one of the partners of Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC).

2-    Community Center for Disabled (CCD) works in the area of capacity building, generating job opportunity, technical vocational training for self sufficiency ,  human rights awareness-raising and advocacy for war disabled and  women victims and has enough working experiences in the area.


3-    Afghan Development Association, which is a women organization working to protect the right of widows and victims through vocational training, generating job opportunity and economic income for the victim families
 
4-    Organization Development for Disabled Women (ODDW) works to strengthen the right of disabled through engaging a variety of technical capacity-building, women rights awareness and job generation for being self dependant

The training aimed to create a space for Afghan ordinary women to empower themselves raises awareness on women’s issues and widen the space for discussions on issues relating to women and conflict in Afghanistan.

The training has successfully ended in three separate groups, but hoped this would be a platform for women and other civil society actors to contribute to debate on strengthening women’s rights and democratic spaces in Afghanistan. As a result of the training, all participants (56) developed three different plays on different important topics related to domestic violence, poverty and forced marriage, and land dispute and warlord commanders in Afghanistan.
